Podcast.mp3 Our podcast is brief debate about the age of the earth (creationism vs. radiometric dating) sparked by a discussion of exponential functions.
With regard to the podcast in its entirety, I thought the concept was great--it's so topical and perennially of interest to just about everyone. I think it might have been even more successful if you had integrated the segments a little more. For instance, if the creationist person said one comment, then the evolution person responded directly to that, more like a real-life conversation. Just the switch off in narrators makes it a little easier to stay with the topic without drifting off amidst all the scientific jargon. All in all, a great concept, well executed.
I have to agree with Jeanne with this. If it's mixed it up a little, it leaves time for comments and discussion from the students. Good job on that.
Now, I just wonder if this is a topic that is appropriate for schools. I always wonder about how much religion/beliefs can be brought into schools without crossing the line. I did love the conversation though. It was interesting.
